Proprietors of private schools in Plateau State chapter to meet today

The review of the meeting with proprietors of private schools in Plateau State by State Commissioner for Education will dominate discussion at the end of year general meeting of the NAPPS.

The occasion will also feature a paper presentation by a seasoned and internationally acclaimed speaker Pastor Mrs. Itta on the topic teaching a world class school on the Plateau.

A statement  by the President National Association for proprietors of private schools Plateau State chapter, Joseph Nwoke, says the meeting which is holding at the Women Model Centre Jos, by ten O’clock in this morning is strictly for school owners.

It adds that there will be election into the exco of the Association.

Team Plateau making us proud in Lagos

Team Plateau bagged two gold medals and one silver medal in weightlifting today and this improved their standing on the Medals table.

Emmanuel Edeh showed class as he dowsed all other contestants to win two gold medals while Stephen Michael went home with one hundred and sixty three kilograms in the clean and jack category. Michael was short changed by the judges if not he would have won gold on the event.

Earlier Sunday night Esther Pam Gyang won gold in the seventy two kilograms weight lifting category.

The result has now taken Plateau to the fifth position on the overall medals table with five gold four silver and eight bronze medals to be the highest ranked the best northern team at the games.

Ungwan Yoruba in Kabong soon to have their electricity restored

Member Representing Jos North West in the Plateau State House of Assembly, Yakubu Choji has donated cash for the purchase of vandalized transformer parts at Ungwan Yoruba Kabong in Jos North Local Government Area.

The assistance came following weeks of black out in the area following the vandalization of the transformer serving the community.

The House member said the gesture is in line with his covenant with his constituents to provide service to them.

Community spokesman, Monday Adi who is also PDP Secretary Bassa Local Government Area, a community leader, Edwin Onyingbu and the Ward Head, Elder Amos Yakwe appreciated the lawmaker for the gesture and urged those responsible for such criminal acts to have a rethink.

Cheques totaling N1.9 million was presented Fadama user groups in Jos North

Cheques totaling one point nine million naira have been presented to fifteen Fadama user groups under the Fadama Community Association of Jos-Jarawa in Jos North Local Government Area.

Speaking during the presentation, Fadama three Desk Officer for Jos North, Local Government Area Jugu Amos said the gesture is aimed at alleviating poverty level in the locality and assured of more support to farmers in the area.

Amos commended the State and Local Governments for their support to the project adding that he was impressed with projects embarked upon by the groups.

In a remark, District Head of Jos Jarawa, Adagwom Ezekiel praised Fadama three for the support noting that it will greatly contribute to alleviating poverty among people of the locality.

Earlier, Fadama Community Association Chairman, Jos-Jarawa Disctrict, Markus Ajik prevailed on the benefiting fadama user groups to ensure sustenance of the project by judiciously utilizing the funds.

Highlights at the event was the presentation of cheques to representatives of the various benefiting groups.
