Plateau State Commissioner for Health Dr Fom Dakwak has expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the ongoing immunization exercise in the state.
The Commissioner made this known while launching the exercise in some parts of the state.
Places visited by the Commissioner includes, Primary Health Clinic and Immunization centers in Jos East, Jos North and Bassa Local Government Areas. The Commissioner who was received by the various Chairmen of the Local Government Councils said the essence of the visit is to monitor the level of complaints by the public and know if the target expected from Plateau State will be achieved at the end of the immunization. Dr Dakwak explained that Nigeria is among the three leading countries in the world with record of Polio cases saying Government is working hard to eradicate the disease by the year 2015.
responding Chairman of Jos East Local Government Samuel Abok, that of Bassa, David Racha and Management Committee Chairman of Jos North Dr Danjuma Sanda commended the Commissioner for the visit and assured that they will mobilize parents to avail their children for the exercise to avert Polio cases.
on the outbreak of Cholera in the State, the Commissioner said the ministry was yet to ascertain the truth of the matter.
