LG tribunal adjourned case against Mikang Chairman to wednesday

The Local Government Election Tribunal has adjourned the sitting to Wednesday hearing on the petition challenging the election of Daniel Kungmi Chairman Mikang LGA, this followed an application for the adjournment of the case by council of the petitioner who appealed for grace of time in due of the fact that he is bereaved. Council to the third respondent PLASIEC Mr Harrison Ugwuala and that of Daniel Kungmi, Mr. Okey did not object to the application which they considered as compassionate.
In her ruling, Chairman of the tribunal Halima Nshe adjourned the case to wednesday 16th of April for hearing, it will be recalled that the petitioner Ezekiel Bokga who was the Chairmanship aspirant under the All Progressive Congress APC for Mikang challenged the election of the incumbent Chairman of Mikang LGA Daniel Kungmi on the ground that he was not qualified and shouldn’t have been allowed to contest, earlier counsel to PLASIEC, Harrison Ugwuala has filed an preliminary objection seeking the striking out of some paragraph in the application of counsel to the petitioner which will equally be taken into consideration on wednesday.
