The Board of the Plateau state community and development agency has finally settled down to work, this followed the inauguration of the board by the state commissioner for women affairs and social development Sarah Yusuf at the event which took place at the women multipurpose development center in Jos.
Performing the inauguration, the Commissioner commended Gov Jang for providing a platform for a robust community driven approach to development through the establishment of the agency, Mrs Yusuf noted that attempt have been made in the past to develop communities without the active participation of the people from the planning stage, this according to her failed because it did not meet the aspirations of the people.
General Manager Plateau State Community and Social Development Agency Dauda Dinju explained that the inauguration of the board is long overdue as members were appointed by the governor since last year. Mr Dinju observed that now that the board has taken off, member’s wealth of experience will contribute to the progress and development of the agency. Responding on behalf of others, Chairman of the board Mrs Sylvia Miri expressed gratitude to the Governor for finding them worthy to serve, promising that they will assist the agency in other for it to achieve its mandate. The membership of the board of the Plateau State Community and Social Development Agency is drowned from the public and private sectors.
