Christian association of Nigeria Plateau State Chapter is to partner with the state Internal Revenue Service to generate revenue for the state. CAN Plateau State Chairman Rev. Soja Bewarang give this indication when the Chairman of the Service Samuel Pam led management on a courtesy visit to his office at Anguldi, Jos South LGA.
The CAN Chairman said payment of staff is biblical explaining that people should not be running away from their responsibility of paying tax saying the association will continue to be loyal in payment of staff in order to generate revenue for the state.
Earlier in his remark Chairman of the Plateau State Internal Revenue Service Samuel Pam informed the CAN Chairman that the service is embarking on sensitization to discuss with citizens on how to improve the revenue profile of the State. Pam said the Service is meeting with Traditional Leaders, stakeholders, religious leaders, associations and groups in that direction. He further stated that payment of taxes is very important as government cannot execute projects without taxes.
