Over 30 newly promoted officers of the Nigerian Immigration Service of the Plateau State command have been decorated with their new ranks. Decorating the officers at the federal secretariat Jos, state controller of immigration, Raymond Jajah said the promotion was based on the officers commitment and dedication to duty.
Over 30 officers of the service were promoted to the ranks of deputy controllers, assistant controllers, controllers, and deputy superintendents among other ranks.
Decorating the officers, Raymond Jajah, said the promotion followed approval by President Jonathan and Controller general of immigration and assured officers yet to be promoted that they would be accommodated when there is available space. He said promotion comes with greater responsibility and warned the newly promoted officers to shun any act that will tarnish the image of the service.
The controller of immigration added that with promotion, the command is better equipped to curtail criminality and other challenges confronting the state.
Responding on behalf of the newly promoted officers, Rufai Bulus, who was promoted from the rank of superintendent to controller of immigration promised to put in their best in the discharge of their duties.
