Plateau State Water Board has expressed optimism that the N8 billion water supply projects will be handed over to government by the end of October this year. General Manager of the Board Eugene Pam stated this while inspecting some water projects within Jos and environ.
The scope of the project covers construction of new reservoirs, replacements of old pipelines and relocation and extension of pipeline, as well as expansion of Rabin Du pond to augment the Yakubu Gowon Dam. At the Nabor Gwom former Eto Baba, the General Manager who was conducted round the facility by the contractor inspected the 5,000 cubic meter treatment plant which has reach about 90% completion. Ward Head of Nabor Gwom thank Governor Jonah Jang for providing a treatment plant for the community to meet its water needs. The General Manager commended the community for cooperating with government and advise them to guard the facility jealously. The Manager also inspected a treatment plant at NDA base camp, Anguldi Zawan. The Project Manager CTC Nig Ltd Zhau Yang said the Company will hand over facility soon and assured of the durability of the facility. A consultant with the World Bank Mr W. William said he is happy with what the Plateau State Government has done, General Manager of the Water Board Eugene Pam expressed satisfaction in the level and quality of the work on ground.
