A winner has march in the 2nd annual Titus Alams inter secondary school debate competition for secondary schools in Bokkos local government area. The competition which was held at the directorate office conference hall Bokkos saw Christ Apostolic church college Kuba slotting it out with government secondary school Munguna in the grand finale.
The topic for this year’s grand finale is ‘secondary school debate competition is the negative rather than the positive influence in youth’, GSS Manguan propose while Christ Apostolic church Kuba opposed the motion. The organizers said the debate is aimed at bringing students within the constituency together to share and exchange ideas. Sponsor of the annual event and speaker of the house Assembly of the Plateau state, Hon Titus Alams said education advance the society adding that he is proud to be associated with the people of Bokkos particularly in the area of education, Alams strongly emphasize the need for both parents and students to give more attention to educational need of the children particularly English language subject and assured of transforming all primary schools in his constituency by 2019 if he will elected the speaker. Alams also use the forum to present his score card and appeal to his constituency to be patient with the present administration particularly the civil servants over the delay of their payment sin their salary which he noted is not deliberate but due to the financial challenge in the country.
There were good well messages from the Saf Ron Kulere, Chairman Bokkos Local Government Council, Zonal Director Ministry of Education central zone, Pankshin education secretary, Bokkos local government education area all applauded the speaker for sponsoring the debate and assured of their support in sustaining the initiative. The 1st price of educational material worth 100,000 went to Christ Apostolic church Kuba with government secondary school Manguna 2nd and got educational material worth 50,000 while the 3th price went to Nation Academic with 20,000 worth educational mate
