Plateau Workers End Strike Today

Following the meeting between Plateau State chapter of the Nigerian Labour Congress NLC, headed by its Chairman Comrade Jibrin Bancir and the Government representative led by the Head of civil Service, Mr. Ezekiel Dalyop mni which led to the suspension of the strike, workers in Plateau State were directed to call off their one month old strike action.

After the signing of agreement and deliberations on various issues affecting the workers between the organized union and the government in the state, the Acting Secretary of the NLC, Comrade Francis Atsen directs workers to resume work while negotiations continue.

Part of the agreements reached with the government as contained in the statement is that government will pay two months of outstanding salaries to all owed workers while current salaries will be paid subsequently along with monthly arrears with the view to liquidating same, it stated.

Workers were admonished to feel free and be law abiding as no worker shall be victimized for embarking on the strike.

  1. The new gvt,should collect loan to pay at least 3 to 4 months sallaries,the ve suffererd alot,wth debts on thre neck,let d incoming govt apply wisdom to its addministration.
