Lalong has ordered the immediate enforcement of the ban on motor cycles in Jos

The Executive Governor of Plateau State, Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong has ordered the immediate enforcement of the ban on motor cycles within the areas comprising the greater Jos master plan as contained in the Law prohibiting the operation of commercial motor cycles, regulate the operation of commercial Tricycles and private motorcycles (Law 2010).
The Task Force is to enforce the ban in line with the provision of the law which is still in effect.
The Governor is aware of the community approach already in place in some neighbourhood to enforce this due to the recent security challenges witnessed in some parts of Jos North Local Government Area; he sues for the observance of the law in such enforcement.
Similarly the Governor has also directed the Directors of Personnel Management (DPMs) in the seventeen Local Government Councils to immediately retrieve all Government Vehicles and properties unsurrended by the recently dissolved Local Government Chairmen and their appointees.
The Directors of Personnel Management (DPMs) are to liaise with the Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) in their respective Local Government Areas to ensure that all government properties are recovered with immediate effect.
