In order to expand the scope of revenue generation in the state, the plateau state internal revenue service is engaging some members of the private sector who are previously not involved in income tax payment. This move was brought to lime light at an interactive session between management of the services and some of the association’s executives. The interaction held at the revenue board room was chaired by the acting chairman of the services Ringnan Dashe
Those invited to the interactive session were the Poultry Farmers Association in Nigeria, Nigeria union of Tailor, Block Industry Union and Timber Shade Association. Addressing the meeting¸ active chairman plateau state internal revenue service said the interaction became necessary considering the huge population involved in the respective businesses which according to him irrespective of the volume of profit made each income generating business is subject to payment of taxes as a social responsibility in order to facilitated development by the government. Dashe added the meeting is to also find best ways of taxing of the respective businesses putting in to consideration their various challenges, profit and loss margin among others.
Speaking on behalf of the respective associations, chairman Poultry Farmers Association of Nigeria, John Dasak and Hamisu Yusuf of the timber shade among numerous others that contributed advocated on the government that will favor both sides.
