Plateau and Kaduna states were commended on their efforts on the ongoing boundary definition process; this was stated at a meeting which took place at the main conference hall of the Government House in Ray field, by the boundary commission.
Kaduna state was represented at the occasion by its Deputy Governor while Plateau state was represented by the permanent secretary to the Deputy Governor’s office.
Speaking shortly before the commencement of the meeting, Plateau State Deputy Governor Prof Sunny Tyoden who was represented by the permanent secretary to the deputy governor’s office, Emmanuel Gogwim described the 2 states as brothers and pointed out that the sense of brotherliness that existed between them will facilitates the resolution of their boundary issues. He commended the national boundary commission for facilitating the meeting and urged other critical stake holders to contribute positively to the discussion.
In his remark, the Kaduna State Deputy Governor Mr. Bala Barnabas Bantex who expresses total commitment to the speech earlier presented by his Plateau State counterpart stated that it is the responsibility of the 2 states to keep their friendship by resolving the issue amicably.
In his welcome address, Director General of the National Boundary Commission, Dr. Mohammed Ahmed explained that 86 % of the issues has been resolved.
The meeting which attracted local government chairmen, traditional rulers, as well as other critical stake holders. A resolution was adopted at the end of the meeting.
