Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong has promised to support reforms in Nigeria’s accounting sector because of the critical role it plays in fighting corruption. Governor Lalong disclosed this when he received a delegation from the Association of the National Accountants of Nigeria at the new Government House in little Rayfield. The delegation from Association of National Accountants of Nigeria ANAN came along with representatives of the International Federation of accountants USA to seek for areas of collaboration with the state government. Governor Simon Lalong said the All Progressive Congress promise Nigerians a corrupt-free society during the campaign but that such is impossible without the co-operation of professional accountants. Governor Lalong said this is why his administration promise to intervene in the area of road construction for ANAN’s accounting College in Kwall community of Bassa Local Government Area of the state. According to leader of the delegation from International Federation of accountants, they have inspected the college and are satisfied with the quality of education it offers. Earlier, President of ANAN Anthony Nzon maintained that they are the leading authority in public sector accounting in Africa, saying that the college of the Association trains at least 5,000 Accountants annually.
