The 3rd Armored Division of the Nigerian Army has so far witness 171 promotion of its officers in the year 2015.
The General Officer Commanding the 3rd Armored Division, Major General Hassan Umaru made this known at the decoration ceremony of 13 elevated Officers of the division at the Officers’ Mess Rukuba Barracks in Bassa LGA Plateau State with family and friends presence.
Major Umaru said ” 5 Colonels were promoted to the rank of Brigadier Generals, 13 Officers from Lieutenant Colonels to Colonels and 10 Majors to Lieutenants”. He also said 30 Captains were promoted to Majors, and 30 Lieutenants to Captains, while 87 Second-Lieutenants were promoted to the rank of Lieutenants respectively.
The GOC charged the newly promoted Officer to be more dedicated to their work; describing their promotion as well deserved which comes with greater task in serving the Nation.
Plateau state Governor represented by the Permanent Secretary on Security, Mr. Cornelius Sholbel applauded men of the 3rd Armored Division for the role they played in maintaining peace in the Plateau state. The Governor pledged his continues support in identifying with the Division located in the state in achieving the objectives of it’s establishment.
The 13 newly promoted officers have added to the number making 171 Officers elevated from one rank to the other in the year 2015.
The newly promoted officers are: Colonel A.L Lawal to Brigadier General, Colonel J.M Ali to Brig General, Colonel K. Salawa to Brig General and Lieutenant Colonel H. Sarkin-Fulani to Colonel.
Lieutenant Colonel l M.K Fadah to Colonel, with Lieutenant Colonel B.M Gyang to Colonel.
Others are, Major T.H Saleh to Lieutenant Colonel, Major M. Saleh to Lieutenant Colonel, Major S.I Ijomone to Lieutenant Colonel, with Major N.Z Davou to Lieutenant Colonel and Captain L.A Abdulsalam to Majorand Captain J. Aziekiru to Major respectively.
