Chairman of Jos East LG, abducted and killed, Lalong orders full investigation

Hosea Azi, The newly appointed transition committee Chairman of Jos East Local Government Area was reportedly abducted and died alongside four of his abductors in a ghastly motor accident at Garaku in Nassarawa State.

Azi who reports say was kidnapped on Friday evening along Miango road, in Kufang, near former NYSC Secretariat in Jos South Local Government Area of the state, was said to have died alongside four of the six people who abducted him after the car he was whisked away in, got involved in an accident in Keffi, Nasarawa State.

Mr Azi’s Nephew who confirms to Plateau News Online said the Chairman informed his wife about his intention to travel to Abuja later that day but when he failed to contact her for hours she tried his number but it was switched off. “there is so much going on that we don’t understand, he left three cars at home and was discovered dead in a commercial vehicle in Nassarawa state” he said, “his body was embalmed without our permission, we must get to the root of the matter”.

Meanwhile Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong has ordered for full investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.

The Police Command in Jos has dispatched its men to the scene of the accident for proper analysis.
