The Plateau State Deputy Governor Prof. Sunni Tyoden has promised to support any initiatives that will impact positively on youths in the State.
Tyoden made the promise at this year’s Unity football competition held at Panyam Mini stadium. The event has in attendance dignitaries within and outside the state including PRTVC General Manager.
The competition which has 44 participating teams saw the unbeatable warriors of Chakpyem emerging as champions while Spider FC of Mangu and Tiger Boys of Panyam emerged 2nd and 3rd place winners respectively.
Represented by the Deputy Governor’s Chief of Staff of the Deputy Governor Silas Vem, Tyoden lauded the sponsor of the competition and promised to support the project for the sustenance of peace and social economy development of the locality.
The Miskhagham Mwaghavul, Nelson Bakfur said the competition has strengthened the band in the area and announced to the delight of the people that the sponsor will confer with the traditional rulers. Guest speaker at the event, Mallam G Adamu while describing the competition as a worldwide venture called on the people to continue to support such initiative for the development of the area.
General Manager PRTVC congratulated the participating team for exhibiting their sportsmanship urging them to sustain it. Sponsor of the competition, Col. John Surah attributed the success of the competition to the support of the traditional rulers promising to extend it to other parts of the State.
Others who spoke, were the Commanding Officer Nigerian Airforce Minna Lazarus Mishelia, member representing Mangu and Bokkos Federal Constituency Solomon Maren, Col. Dawan Danfulani, and Managing Committee Chairman of Mangu Local Government Area.
There were also presentation of trophy and cash to the 1st,, 2nd and 3rd highest score among others.
