Emmanuel Nanle host the Social Media community in Jos to a breakfast meeting/interaction

The Office of the Director of Press and Public Affairs to the Plateau State Governor yesterday 7th Jan 2016 organized a Social Media Breakfast/appreciation event at Eagle Valley Hotel in Jos.
The event which was tagged ‘How Far, So Far’ experienced a large turnout of social media practitioners/enthusiasts and more people participating in the conversation online through the hashtags #socialmediajos and #joshowfar made possible with the expertise of Jfaden Social Media, a Social Media outfit based in Jos in charge of coordinating and managing, online discussions at the event.
In his speech, the Director of Press and Public Affairs to the Plateau State Governor, Emmanuel Nanle appreciated the efforts of the online community and cautioned on negative viewpoint propagated by some elements who felt because they have large followership on some social media platforms can post anything not minding the consequences. Mr Nanle also disclosed to the audience, the government’s stand on social media activities in the state, saying the government will work together with the online community in sensitizing the public on government policies and activities.
Among the numerous contributors at the event, Commissioner for Information and Communications, Nazifi Ahmed and Sunday Audu Gye who represents the General Manager of PRTVC, Mr Jeftha Jackden both stressed on the importance of social Media in good governance, transparency and how to best utilize it for maximum impact.
Highlight of the event was the drafting of a communiqué by the online community in Jos, Mr Victor Dickson of El-Spice Media who presided over this plenary session also supervised the nomination of EXCOs by the audience, who will be in charge of compiling the suggestions/commendations and presenting it to the community on the way forward in uniting Social Media users on the Plateau.
