PLHA to investigate why Jos Metropolis is experiencing water scarcity

The Plateau state House of Assembly has asked its standing house committee on water resources to investigate why the State especially Jos metropolis is experiencing perilous water shortages. this follows the motion on adjournment by member representing Jos North North constituency Ibrahim Baba Hassan on a hardship his constituents are facing on the issue on water.

Moving the motion on the floor of the house, member representing Jos North North constituency Ibrahim Baba Hassan said the hardship his people are going through in search of potable water is too much specially considering the huge resources pumped into the sector by the previous Administration. The motion attracted the sympathy of many members who unanimously agreed that the house committee on water resources be asked to look into the matter.

Presiding over the sitting, Deputy Speaker Yusuf Gagdi summed up the position of the house the on the term of reference the committee will be working with. Earlier, Member representing Shendam constituency and majority Leader of the house Henry Yilkwap has also brought motion to the floor of the house the matter of urgent public importance on the fire disaster that gutted some buildings within Girls Government Secondary Schools Shendam calling on relevant agencies to intervene. The motion also attracted the sympathy of many members who took turns to emphasis on the need for relevant agencies to come to the aid of the affected persons.
