EU, UNICEF to partner with Plateau State on water supply , sanitation and sector reforms

Secretary to Plateau State Government Rufus Bature has assured the chief officer UNICEF Nigeria, Bauchi field officer of the government’s commitment towards projects targeting the development of women and children. Playing host to the officials in his office, the SSG expressed determination of the APC lead Administration in the State in payment of counterpart funds for the implementation of the water sanitation and hygiene process in the State.

Earlier, Chief Field Officer UNICEF Bauchi field office Abdullahi Kaikai told the SSG that the visit was to discuss partnership between the UNICEF and the State on how best they will all continue to perform their role in the collaboration.

Kaikai explained that the EU, UNICEF water supply, sanitation and sector reform are the 3 projects that will be implemented in the 3 States of the Federation namely; Adamawa, Ekiti , and Plateau State.

He added that in Plateau, the project covers 2 Local Government areas with focus on system strengthen, capacity building and service delivery, he also disclosed that the plan for 2016, is to construct 780 blowholes and 160 latrines in 80 schools to meet the target.
