The Plateau State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Godwin Kwanga’s 5 years tenure finishes today 24th February after a successful term.
While briefing news men on the recently concluded supplementary elections held in some pulling units of the State, mr Kwanga said for a robust and sanctified electoral system, the electoral laws use in the country must be upgraded. He also spoke on the areas of improvement for the electoral body.
The Commissioner who joined INEC on the 24th Feb. 2011 on a 5 yrs appointment contract highlighted some challenges he encountered while discharging his duties to include assessable interaction with the communities, INEC polices implementation and electoral security networks, among others.
Meanwhile, the documents made available to news men by INEC revealed the Pankshin North constituency result has Alice Dimlong of the APC emerging winner with 17,320 votes closely followed by Diket Plang of the PDP who got the total of 16, 817, while the Pankshin South State constituency election Gideon Dashe of the APC emerges winner with 9,955 votes closely followed by Istifanus Mwansat with 9,878 votes.
