DPR in Jos has embarked on massive removal of pump from illegal fuel stations

In a renewed effort to ensure sensitization in the Petroleum industry, the Department of Petroleum Resources DPR in Jos has embarked on massive removal of pump from illegal fuel stations, the exercise according to the team is part of measure put in place to ensure transparency in the downstream operations. The oil and gas regulatory agency recently gave a warning to fuel stations owners on it plan to remove pumps of illegal fuel stations.

Leading the team of DPR officials on the exercise, Deputy Comptroller of DPR Jerry Mashat first took them to Bauchi Ring road where two affiliate fuel stations and 3 others selling fuel illegally have their pumps removed

Operation Comptroller, Department of Petroleum Resources in Jos, Caesar Douglas explained that aside the selling of fuel above approved Government price, some of the fuel stations were sited for operating illegally.

Over 20 fuel stations have so far been sealed and their pumps removed within January till date. The operation is a continuous one.
