PLSG to clamp down on residents who fail to dispose waste at designated areas

Plateau State Government has announced that hence forth it will clamp down on residents who fail to dispose waste at designated areas. State Commissioner for Environment and Mineral Development, Abdullahi Abbas made this known while on an assessment tour of some residential areas within Jos.

The Commissioner who was accompanied by the General Manager of PEPSA, Mr. L Christopher inspected areas include the Yelwa Club junction, Rahol Kanang, Anguwan Doki and Kugiya market. Others are Abattoir quarters, Angul D and Mararaban Jama’a. Abbas explained that the inspection is aimed at sustaining the level of compliance by residents and traders who were asked to dispose refuse at designated points appointed by Government. He further added that resident in the State should ensure their environment is kept clean to avoid prosecution.
