CMD of JUTH negotiations ongoing to ensure striking workers return to work

Chief Medical Director of the Jos University Teaching hospital JUTH Edward Bawa said negotiation are still on with the Joint Health Union Workers to ensure the strike they embarked upon is suspended. Chairman of the union of the organization, Mustapha Kabiru however affirmed that unless their demands are met they are not ready to go back to work.

The Joint Heath Union Workers of the JUTH embarked on the strike on 7th Mar. 2016 sighting increase in allowance and inadequate hospital facilities among others as their reason.

The Chief Medical Director expressed concern over the lingering strike promising that the management of the hospital is doing everything possible to end the strike.

Reacting chairman of the joint health union workers of the hospital explained that the strike was based on the inability of JUTH management to meet their demands which is now affecting both workers and patients.

Some patients who spoke said the strike is affecting them negatively and called on both parties to resolve the issues for the interest of all.
