There are strong indications that the challenge of under staffing in public secondary schools in Plateau State will soon be over as Governor Simon Lalong has direct the ministry of education to submit a memo for employment of additional qualified staff. State Commissioner Secondary education Joseph Mairiga drops the cheering news when Sho community of Barkin Ladi LGA paid him a courtesy visit at the ministry’s headquarters in Jos.
The commissioner said the present administration inherited some challenges in the educational sector adding that efforts are being intensified to address them. Mairiga explained that the rescue administration is working in collaboration with security agency to secure lives and properties of the secondary school students in the state.
Acting National President Sho Community Development Association Mr .D. Yusuf decried the current attacks on the community which he said has affected economic and academic activities in the area.
The attacks he said has led to the distractions of activities at Government secondary school Sho adding that currently staff and students use another secondary school in the community as an alternative. He pleaded with the State Government for more assistance to the school especially in the area of staff and commended the peace strategies adopted by the rescue administration.
