Lalong promised to require BARC Farms with N1.5 billion

Plateau state government to re-acquire the controversially sold state government farm popularly known as BARC farm at the cost of N1.5 billion to meet up with the agricultural revolution of the federal government in the face of the dwindling economy.

The State Governor. Simon Lalong disclosed this to Journalists at the new government house Little Rayfield in Jos.

The governor said his government would go out of its ways to raise fund and pay back the farm because it remains the only farm that has up to 5,000 hectares of land that would be good for agricultural investment in the state.

The State government’s farm sold to the former Governor of Adamawa State Murtala Nyako at the cost of N900 million In the early 1990s was one among Lalong’s campaign promises which he said will ensure the good and growth of Plateau State.
