Afizere Cultural and Community Development Association (ACCDA) inaugurates New EXCO (PHOTOS)

The Afizere Cultural and Community Development Association (ACCDA) last Saturday 17th September 2016 inaugurate a new EXCO to stir the activities of the Association at the Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre, Lamingo, Jos North LGA Plateau state.

Welcoming guest at the occasion, the chairman Electoral Committee Mr Izang D. Izang thanked the Afizere people for the opportunity given to him and members of the electoral committee to serve Izere people and called on the newly elected executive to see their victory as an opportunity to use their wealth of experience to better the association and Izere nation at large, he urge the outgoing executive to be ready at all times to serve in any capacity as their service is still needed.

In his address, Chairman of the occasion Barr. Jonathan Azi Nyako congratulate the newly elected executives and call for unity among all Afizere people, appealing for a return to the rich cultural values and integrity that the Izere people are known for and to also guard jealousy their culture against extinction of core cultural norms and values and curb the menace of incessant proliferation of chieftaincy titles in Izere land.

The outgoing President Ada Peter Azi Magaji (JP) in his speech appreciates and thanks the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Rt Hon. Barr. Simon Bako Lalong and his cabinet for his relentless good will to the Izere nation and went on to say that during their tenure the association enjoyed the support of the entire Afizere people. He went further to say the Agwom Izere stool which has been vacant since the demised of HRH Alhaji Yakubu Ajang Adamu Fobor on the 16th November 1999, has since 15th June 2016 been occupied by a substantive Agwom Izere HRH Rev. Dr. Isaac Azi Wakili, A First Class Paramount Ruler, adding that they started their tenure without a substantive Agwom Izere but he is now fulfilled leaving office with the throne occupied.

On Jos Izere chiefdom he said under his watched the court case with Plateau state Government was settled out of court thereby affirming HRH Adagwom Emmanuel Ajik Agwom as the Paramount Ruler of Jos Izere Chiefdom of Jos North LGA as a 2nd Class chief. He also Secured membership of Conference of Autonomous Ethnic Nationalities Community Development Association (CONEACDA), thereby creating a platform for the promotion of Izere language project with other several benefits attached.

Aneng ladi A. Amakson – Secretary General

Aneng Dorcas Azi – Treasurer

Ada Bulus Atang – Financial Secretary

Ada Bulus Ishaya Ajang – Organizing Secretary

Ada Agwom A. Adams – Auditor I

Ada Danladi M. Izang – Auditor II

Ada Dauda Ajang Abok – Public Relations Officer

Ada Ayuba S. Azi – Chief whip


Highlight of the occasion was a performance by the Asharwa Dancers from COCIN Church Jos Jarawa. The occasion was graced by Rt Hon. Peter Ajang Azi Speaker, Plateau State House of Assembly represented by his Chief of Staff Ada Izang Azi Abok, Mr Izam Atang Azi mni Head of Service Plateau State. the Chief Host Hon.Theresa Daniel Azi and Hon. Dr. Samuel Ibrahim Pate Mgt. Committee Chairmen of Jos North and Jos East LGAs respectively. Others are, Justice Jacob Azi Atsen, Justice Joseph Awak  from Gombe State, Hon Lumumba Dah Adeh former member representing Bassa/Jos Constituency at the National House of Representatives, Aneng Bilyana Azigwom, Barr. Jonathan Azi Nyako, the President Afizere Youth Movement (AYM) Hon. Barr. Joshua Izang Madaki, Chief Whip (PLHA) member representing Jos East Constituency at the Plateau State House of Assembly ably represented the Vice President AYM Comrade Emmanuel Izang, Elders, ACCDA Women Wing and a host of others.
