Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State has congratulated Mr Godwin Obsseki, the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate in the just concluded Edo State governorship election, over his overwhelming victory at the polls.
Lalong, in a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mark Longyen, described Obaseki’s victory in the election as “a victory for democracy and a triumph of the people’s will.”
The Governor also gave his Edo State counterpart, Adams Oshiomhole, and the APC, a pat on the back, for a job well-done by ensuring that the party triumphed over the opposition in the state in order to ensure continuity and consolidation of the APC government’s good legacies.
“It is with great joy that I congratulate the APC candidate, Mr Goodwin Obsseki, on his well-deserved victory in the just concluded Edo State governorship election as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
“I welcome you into the progressive governors’ family and also felicitate with Governor Oshiomhole, the state APC chapter, as well as the good people of Edo State for this collective victory.
“The outcome of this election is, without doubt, a victory for democracy and a triumph of the people’s will,” Lalong said.
Governor Lalong advised those who lost in the election to be gracious in defeat, put the election behind them and join hands with the Governor-elect to move the state forward.
