PLSG to enforce ban on motor cycles

The House Committee on Labour and Security of the Plateau State House of Assembly is to liaise with law enforcement agents in the state to enforce the ban on the operation of commercial motor circle riders within the Jos metropolis.
In a motion on matters of urgent public importance on the floor of the House the member representing Bokkos constituency Hon Sunday Mucheri said despite an existing law banning their operation they remain adamant in carrying out their activities.
He explained that these commercial motor circle operators sometimes act as agents of criminals who rob their unsuspecting victims.
According to him, their refusal to obey the law banning their operation was disrespect to constituted authority in the state.
In their contribution members lamented the failure of law enforcement agents in the state to enforce the law.
The members of the House agreed to involve its committee on security and labour base on section 125 of the constitution which allowed the involvement of committee in the enforcement of a law.
