2017 will be a glorious year for Plateau – Governor Lalong

Plateau state Governor Simon Lalong said he is optimistic 2017 will be a glorious year for people of the state. The governor made this statement in his speech at his home town of Ajikamai during this year’s festival tagged ‘BIT POL 2017’ at the Nyak central playground.

The Governor use the opportunity to solicit for the continuous support & prayers of citizens to enable his administration consolidate on its rescue mission. He thanked all those who contributed towards the development of the state and urged them not to relent.

Chairman of the occasion and member representing Wase federal constituency, Idris Maje, commend the people of Nyak for raising one of their own who today stands as a unifying factor with the capability of carrying everyone along  saying the governor’s humility has drawn many to his side.

President of POL Unity & Cultural Association, Wumen Tsenba Bako said the festival is significant as an avenue to foster unity amongst all as well as well as a way of showcasing their rich cultural heritage to the world.

He noted that as a community that is concern about the plight of its people, they have looked into the possibility of improving on the educational facilities in the community through community efforts.
In their separate remarks, Senator representing Plateau central zone Joshua Dariye & Deputy Speaker of the people state House of Assembly, Yusufu Gagdi praises the governor for his humility, loyalty and commitment to follow due process.

State Chairman of All progressive Congress Latep Dabang in his speech, said as a political party they are proud to have produce  a courageous leader in the person of the governor and promised to stand by him.

The district head of Shendam, Kenneth Kwapsan said the people of Nyak are not only celebrating a cultural festival but God’s glory over the community having being blessed with a great son in Lalong.

Highlights of the event includes featured cultural performance by different groups from plateau, Taraba & Nasarawa states.

Donations were also made in support of development of the community.
