PLASU matriculates 996 students

The Plateau State University Bokkos have matriculated about 996 newly admitted students in to the university for the 2017/208 academic session after it’s first and second combined convocation.

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Doknan Shenni said out of 10,000 applicants for the 2017/2018 academic session in to the institution, 996 students were able to gained admission into the University. Prof. Shenni stated this in his speech while declaring the matriculation ceremony open on Wednesday 5th April, 2017 held at the University’s convocation ground in Bokkos LGA.

The University’s Boss disclose that two faculties are coming on board directed by Governor Simon Lalong in a bid to grow the university, faculty of health sciences and faculty of Law.

According to Prof. Shenni,  The successful staging of the 1st and 2nd combined convocation ceremony has proved that the University has come to stay. Plateau State University will from now posses higher stakes to favorably compete with similar Institutions of learning both locally and internationally not only in academic excellence but in scientific innovation, research and above all in governance in line with best practices obtained in other Universities of the world.

Prof. Shenni called on investors to come and invest in the University’s community and it’s environment as population of students is on the increase. He however charge the newly matriculated student to shunned cultism and any other secret groups while in the University as such has become a national problem for Universities in country, PLASU inclusive will not tolerate such act.

The University currently have about 100 remedial science students undergoing their studies apart from the 996 newly matriculated students into the institution which the Vice Chancellor described as a good step to the institution gaining it’s ground after 11 years of it’s establishment in the Country.
