Plateau state government paid an official Solidarity visit to the National Assembly yesterday where Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong expressed satisfaction with the performance of a member of the house of representative from the state Hon. Edward Pwajok .
Governor Lalong said his visit to the National Assembly was to show solidarity with member of the house of representative from the state Hon. Edward Pwajok who has decided to joined the ruling party APC and stressed that whoever feels encouraged with the performance of the APC in the state is welcome and free to join the party.
He noted that he is not calling for a one party state and stressed the need for opposition in checkmating the ruling party.
During a plenary at the House, Speaker House of Representative Yakubu Dogara read a communiqué from Hon. Edward Pwajok the SAN representing Jos South/East constituency of Plateau State informing the speaker and the house of his defection to the APC from the PDP, the communication stated division, lack of unity in the PDP from the National, State, down to LGA and Kuru ward as reasons of his defection.
When the point of order was raise on the floor of the house on the defection of Edward Pwajok and the called for him to vacate his seat, the Speaker Yakubu Dogara overrule the point of order saying the issues of factorization in a political party is a constitutional matter which should be left for the court to decide.
