PLATEAU State Chapter of the Radio and Television Theatre Arts Workers Union (RATTAWU) is to host the 2017 North-Central Radio and Television Theatre Arts Festival (RATTAFEST), from the 8th-14th of August.
The state Chairman of RATTAWU, Comrade Francis Izang, disclosed this yesterday, while on a courtesy visit to the State Commissioner for Tourism, Culture and Hospitality, Hon. Peter Mwankon, in his office at the J.D Gomwalk Secretariat Jos.
He also disclosed that the National President of RATTAWU, Comrade Tsani Kabir, would be in Jos, the State Capital, to finalize plans by the union on hosting this year’s RATTAFEST.
While congratulating the commissioner for successfully hosting the first ever carnival of the state, the state chairman, revealed that the chapter has consecutively won four championships of the festival, as this was what attracted the hosting of this year’s hosting.
Izang, however, solicited for the support of the ministry towards the actualization of this year’s festival saying, over 800 contingents would participate which enable them see how beautiful and peaceful Plateau was.
Responding, the State Commissioner for Tourism, Culture and Hospitality, Hon. Mwankon, congratulated the state RATTAWU, for bringing home honours to the state, by projecting Plateau on four occasions and expressed optimism that, hosting this year’s festival would be another chance for them win the fifth time.
He promised the ministry’s supported collaboration towards the success of the festival, adding that, he would do everything humanly possible to avail himself at the airport to welcome the National President.
