Plateau blaze a trail on voluntary assets and income declaration scheme in Nigeria

PLASG disclosed it will key into the revenue generation policies of the Federal Government to enhance its internal generated revenue to meet the yearning and aspirations of it Citizens.

Plateau State Commissioner of Finance, Mrs. Tamwakat Weli stated this at the flag off of the voluntary assets and income declaration scheme in the state.  The flag off took place at the State Internal Revenue Service Jos.

The voluntary assets and income declaration scheme tagged  ‘my duty my nation’ which was launched by the acting Pres. Yemi Osinbajo in June with the grace period of 9 months will cover all Federal, State and LGAs.

Launching the scheme, Plateau State Commissioner of finance stated that Plateau State is the first state to launch the program in the country and called on Citizens to voluntarily declare their assets to ensure the full implementation of the program in the state.

On his part, Plateau State Controller of the Federal Inland Revenue Service stated that the initiative is an effort by the Federal Government to reduce tax invention in the country.

On his part, Chairman Plateau State Internal Revenue Service, Mr Dashe Arlat explained that the launching of the scheme in the state follows a directive by the Federal Government to Nigerians to declare their assets adding that the scheme will go a long way in improving the internally generated revenue of the state.

In their separate good will messages from the transition committee chairmen of Pankshin, Riyom and Wase LGC, they all promised to support the scheme saying it will add value to the LG system in the state.
