Da Moses Gwong, former Plateau State head of civil service and a very famous icon in Berom land was attacked and killed by suspected armed Fulani herdsmen last night.
The attack is said to have been meted out on them when Da Moses and other deceased were in his provisions shop at Ropp of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State and was attending to customers before they were gruesomely murdered.
confirming the incident, Management Committee Chairman of Barkin Ladi LGA, Mr Dickson Chollom said there was an attack in Wereh of Dorowa district where Da Moses Gwong was shot and killed alongside a military personnel who also was confirmed dead and another critically injured as at the time of this report.
Along with the deceased, up to 12 people were said to have been injured, with scores others traumatized.
It’s worth noting that native inhabitants of Ken and Rachi in Bachi District and other Berom communities have, over the five days, been experiencing sporadic gunshots, threats of intimidation, unruly and provocative conduct displayed by the herders.

The Chairman calls for calmness in the area and appeal to anybody with useful information to come forward as investigation is ongoing and promised that the perpetrators will be brought to book.
