Leadership of the Plateau state house of assembly service commission is putting in place strategies to inject new ideas and innovations that will propel effective and functional legislature.
Chairman of the commission, Banahel Andong disclosed this while in audience with management of trade union of the state assembly in its office at Dan Daura road in Jos.
The maiden interactive meeting between the commission and management of the state assembly is an avenue to create a better and conducive working environment for an effective legislative function.
In the words of the commission’s chairman Banehel Andong, Effective Corporation between the house and commission will go a long way in addressing most of the challenges faced by both offices.
Clerk of the state assembly who led the management team to the commission’s office expressed their commitment in carrying its directives from the commission for effective coordination in the house.
The house management expressed their readiness to work with the commission in actualizing its mandate, adding that with the wealth of experience of members of the commission, the sky is their limit.
On his part, secretary of the commission Nehemiah Gagara noted that some members of the commission were part of the legislators who worked for the establishment of the commission in 2003. Gagara assured of constant interface with the house to avoid administrative lapses as experienced in the past.
Also at the commissions office are union members of the parliamentary staff association of Nigeria, Plateau state house of assembly led by its chairman Vitalis Hakuri where the commission’s chairman assured them of a better welfare package while discussing the role of the union in creating a conducive working environment promised to partner with them for the overall good of the assembly.
Chairman of the assembly’s union Vitalis Hakuri promised to work closely with the leadership of the commission in ensuring better welfare package for staff of the house.
