National Orientation Agency (NOA) has commenced a physical verification of the just short listed NPOWER beneficiaries nationwide.
Plateau state director of the agency Bulus Dabit disclosed this during the verification exercise conducted for NPOWER beneficiaries at the NOA office in Jos north local government.
The verification exercise was supervised by state focal person of the social investment program Dr. Sumaiya Hamza.
State director of the National Orientation Agency, Bulus Dabit said NOA has the mandate to conduct physical screening on the 390 shortlisted beneficiaries in the state.
Dabit added that the current federal government social investment program with its developed beneficiary capacities in vocational career is to be implemented in 5 local governments of the state including Jos north, Jos south, Jos east, Lantang north and Wase.
On her part, the executive assistant to Governor Simon Lalong and state focal person on social investment program Dr. Sumaiya Hamza stressed that the new program rolled out by the federal government is to be benefited by 175 youths who are residents of Jos north.
Beneficiaries of the NPOWER program Okeke Festus and Miriam Ahmed thanked the Federal Government for the opportunity to develop their capacities.
The state focal person on social investment program Dr. Sumaiya Hamza in company of her NOA counterpart Bulus Dabit later visited the girl child center Kabong in Jos north local government to ascertain the efficiency of another federal government social investment program which is the school feeding program.
